Death & The Dark Candle.........

A man had a little daughter-an only and much-beloved child. He lived for her.... she was his life.

So when she became ill and her illness resisted the efforts of the best obtainable physicians, he became like a man possessed, moving heaven and earth to bring about her restoration to health.

His best efforts proved unavailing and the child died. The father was totally irreconcilable. He became a bitter recluse, shutting himself away from his many friends and refusing every activity that might restore his poise and bring him back to his normal self.

But one night he had a dream. He was in Heaven, and was witnessing a grand pageant of all the little child angels. They were marching in an apparently endless line past the Great White Throne. Every white-robed angelic tot carried a candle. He noticed that one child's candle was not lighted. Then he saw that the child with the dark candle was his own little girl. Rushing to her, while the pageant faltered, he seized her in his arms, caressed her tenderly, and then asked: "How is it, darling that your candle alone is unlighted? "Father, they often relight it, but your tears always put it out."

Just then he awoke from his dream. The lesson was crystal clear, and its effects were immediate. From that hour on he was not a recluse, but mingled freely and cheerfully with his former friends and associates. No longer would his little darling's candle be extinguished by his useless tears............

Rasagola/Rasogolla/Rasgulla(Source-Wikipedia)

This is a very popular cheese based, syrupy sweet dish originally from Orissa. It is popular throughout India and South Asia. The dish is made from balls of chhena (an Indian cottage cheese) and semolina dough, cooked in sugar syrup.

The rasgulla made its debut in Orissa, where it is also known by its original name, Khirmohan..It has been a traditional Oriya dish for centuries.

People throughout the state consider the rasgullas prepared by the Kar brothers, the descendants of a local confectioner, Bikalananda Kar, in the town of Salepur, near Cuttack to be the best.Another variant of this dish that is made in the town of Pahala, located between the cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, is also very popular locally.Pahala, where only rasgulla and its derivatives, chhenapoda and chhenagaja are available, is reputed to be the largest market in the world for chhena sweets.

In the middle of the nineteenth century, the popularity of rasgulla spread to neighboring West Bengal. This was during a period when Bengali cuisine borrowed heavily from Oriya culinary traditions. One of the earliest pioneers of the rasgulla, a sweet seller called Haradhan Moira was probably the first to introduce the dish to Bengal. A confectioner from Kolkata, N. C. Das simplified the original dish so that it could be cooked in household kitchens. It was through him that the rasgulla was incorporated into the local palate. N. C. Das's son, K. C. Das started large scale production the sweet, eventually leading to its wider availability. This mass produced version became known as the sponge rasgulla. Even today, it is the simpler sponge rasgulla that is available in Kolkata, while the rest of Bengal adheres to the original, more elaborate Oriya recipe.

Eventually rasgullas gained popularity all across India and the rest of South Asia. Although traditionally sold inside clay pots called handis in Orissa and sometimes in Bengal, sponge rasgullas in cans have become popular nowadays. Such canned rasgullas are available throughout India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, as well as in South Asian grocery stores in Britain and North America. They are marketed not only by K. C. Das and other confectioners, but also by several other Indian sweet makers from places such as Bikaner and Delhi. More recently, it has been marketed by the Kar brothers as well. In Nepal, the rasgulla is popular under the name Rasbari.

In the coastal city of Puri in Orissa, the rasgulla has been the traditional offering to the Hindu goddess, Lakshmi, the consort of the Puri temple's main deity, Jagannath. In fact, it is an age-old custom inside the temple to offer rasgullas to Lakshmi in order to appease her wrath for being ignored, on the last day of the eleven day long Rath Yatra (chariot festival). Only after the goddess has savored rasgullas, do the trinity of deities re-enter the temple precincts after their sojourn. Copious quantities of rasgullas are distributed to the numerous devotees who throng to witness the event. This intricate ritual, called Niladri Vijay, has traditionally marked the commencement of the festival every year.

The genesis of this temple tradition of offering rasgullas has been obscured with the passage of time. Nonetheless, it has led scholars to believe that the sweet may in fact owe its origin to the very temple itself. Eminent historian, J. Padhi has claimed that "The rasgulla is more than 600 years old. It is as old as the Rath Yatra in Puri". Upon close examination of religious scriptures in Puri, Padhi, as well as another researcher, S. C. Mahapatra have discovered that this practice of offering rasgullas to Lakshmi dates back at least 300 years. "The Rath Yatra, which started more than six centuries ago, has not changed with times. And until today, rasgulla is the only sweet offered to Mahalaxmi , Jagannath’s consort, to appease her when the deities return home," Padhi observes. The antiquity of this sweet is further highlighted by traditional Oriya folklore that likens Jagannath's round eyes to rasgullas. It has been suggested that Bengali visitors to Puri might have carried the recipe for rasgulla back to Bengal in the nineteenth century.

The original Oriya rasgullas tend to be cream-colored.Rasgullas are usually served at room temperature or colder. Modern Indian households also tend to serve them chilled. A popular variant in Orissa and Bengal is freshly prepared hot rasgullas. In Orissa, it is not uncommon to embed a single raisin or cashew inside each rasgulla. Cardamom seeds may also be embedded to create a fragrant version. In northern India, the dish comes flavored in saffron, rosewater, and sometimes garnished with chopped pistachios.

Rasgulla is the first syrupy Indian cheese desserts. It is the precursor of many other eastern Indian delicacies, such as chhena jhilli, rasmalai, chhena gaja, raskadam, chamcham, pantua, malai chop, and kheersagar. Rasgulla, along with chhena gaja and chhena poda, forms the classic Oriya trinity of chhena desserts. In Bengal, rasgulla and a variety of other chhena sweets such as sondesh, are collectively referred to as Bengali sweets.

Kamalabhog, which mixes orange extract with the chhena, is commonly sold in Bengal. In the dish kheersagar, thick, sweetened milk called rabidi is used instead of sugar syrup. While this dish is largely confined to Orissa, a similar dish rasmalai has become very popular throughout India, mainly due to the efforts of the Kolkata based confectioners K. C. Das, Ganguram and Bhim Nag. In that, the syrup is replaced with sweetened milk of a thinner consistency. Malai chop, a Kolkata invention, consists of prepared chhena that is sandwiched with a layer of sweetened clotted cream.

Motherhood(A heavenly experience)

Mother is one of nature’s best gifts.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.  She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new.

If the whole world were put into one scale, and mother in the other, the whole world would kick the beam. The real religion of the world comes from women much more than from men - from mothers most of all, who carry the key of our souls in their bosoms. The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.

Mother is a never-ending song in our heart of comfort, happiness, and being. We may sometimes forget the words but, always remember the tune.

No matter how exhausting the past nine months may have been, every bit of the pain seems worth it when I hold my baby in arms for the first time!

After becoming a mother, I am never really alone in my thoughts as a mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.
Being a mother is so much more fulfilling than anything I’ve ever done.
In my career, I’ve worked with famous people and have had exciting times – and really, nothing compares to the simple moments with my kid.

Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs, since the payment is pure love. I love reading to him, talking with him and just watching him. I thought I’d be bored but there’s never a dull moment!

Doing things with my son, gave me the most joy of anything I had ever experienced. Everything else was incomparable to the feelings that came over me when I spent time with him.

When I experienced things before I had kid, it was as if something was missing…. special moments weren’t as special because I couldn’t share them with my kid. I don’t think I realized that until my child came into my life and then my life seemed more complete and fulfilled.

Now I fully understood that a mother is the bank where we deposited all our hurts and worries, the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts…..

So now my love for my mom is doubled as i understand motherhood….

Life & Marriage

All the world is like a stage & each day is a little life & our life is conflict with nature...
And true love makes this conflict a real rose...

Life is the gift of God,it is the stage upon which,we have to represent our own performances...
Life is a journey of soul,a long one & we have to decide about it.
We have to make this journey so sweet & good, 'coz there is nothing so great as life....

If life is the journey of our soul, then marriage is the junction point, which helps us to achieve our destination.

Lets discuss some more about the Recession

The global financial and economic crisis keeps getting worse. A couple of weeks back the giant Citibank had to be bailed out with several hundred billion dollars in cash and guarantees from the US authorities ("Citi never sleeps"but apparently its management dozed off during some crucial decisions last year). Last week America reported November job losses of more than 530,000, the biggest single month figure since 1974, taking the US unemployment rate to 6.7 percent, the highest in 15 years. The US, Eurozone, UK and Japan are now officially in recession, in the sense of having experienced two successive quarters of negative growth. Several analysts predict that the rate of contraction of the US economy in this final quarter of 2008 may be at an astonishing annual rate of 4 to 5 percent.

Similar pessimism pervades the other two largest economies in the world: Europe and Japan. There is enormous uncertainty about the depth and duration of the current global recession. But the majority of expert opinion now concedes a substantial likelihood that this will be the worst recession since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
Both the severity of the financial crisis and its massive collateral damage to the real economy have confounded the optimists over the past year. Quite often, experts claimed that "the worst of the financial crisis is behind us", only to be bush-whacked by the next big bail-out or credit seizure. Equally remarkable, and much worse in impact, has been the speed at which the cumulating financial crisis has throttled real economic activity since summer 2008. The rapid onset of recession in industrial (advanced) countries has clearly overwhelmed the forecasting abilities of many institutions, including the IMF. As recently as July this year, the IMF foresaw the world economy growing at 3.9 percent in 2009, advanced economies at 1.4 percent and developing countries at 6.7 percent. By early November (just four months later) these forecasts had been slashed down to 2.2 percent, minus 0.3 percent and 5.1 percent, respectively.
The global economic recession has taken its toll on the Indian economy that has led to multi-crore loss in business and export orders, tens of thousands of job losses, especially in key sectors like the IT, automobiles, industry and export-oriented firms. It has also shaken up the investment regime, which is being restructured, with the telecom sector likely to be declared off-limits for foreign investors.
Although the next two years or more are expected to usher in a difficult phase for the national economy, there are silver linings still amid the dark clouds looming on the horizon. The stimulus package unveiled by the central government should boost exports, especially to the Gulf states, which are still awash in petro-dollars, even if the oil prices have plummeted from $142 to $42 within six months.
Restrictions on exports of food, textiles and construction material to the Gulf have jacked up the prices there. Easing on export curbs should be welcome news to some 30 million people in that region. The scope and size of the export market to Saudi Arabia, the biggest market in the GCC, will be discussed later in this article.
Before the crisis erupted, there were more than 1500 software firms in the country, while the employee base of the sector had grown to 553,000 (from 415,000 in FY 06). More than 1300 IT companies were operating in Bangalore alone.
This sector has been adversely affected by the global crisis-a fact acknowledged by Bangalore-based Infosys Technologies Co-Chairman, Nandan M. Nilekani. He believes that even though the tech sector would see the impact of the economic slowdown in terms of growth rate, the IT industry will continue to grow and recruit manpower.
As for the IT industry, Nasscom had initially projected a 21-24 per cent growth rate for the current financial year, but the software association revised it downward in the wake of the global financial meltdown. Nasscom will complete the ‘review process’ of the FY09 export growth targets, sometime in December.
Similar was the projection of Infosys, when it lowered its dollar revenue guidance for FY09 by six percentage points. It now expects revenue to be between $4.72-4.81billion. “There is a global scenario which is unprecedented and it will have an impact on everyone. But the IT industry has demonstrated time and again that it is resilient enough to deal with these challenges,” said a Nasscom spokesman.
But for now heads continue to roll in the IT sector. In February this year, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had asked about 500 employees to leave due to non-performance. Patni Computer Systems (PCS) has already laid off around 400 employees, or nearly 3% of its 14,800 workforce, on the same ground, while IBM Corp. followed suit in the case of 700 freshers. Wipro, the country’s third largest IT exporter, is considering firing 3,000 employees over performance-related issues.

Now I am telling you a real incident heard from one of my friends:-

Mark (name changed) wanted to outsource some of his development work. A typical outsourcing process starts with bidding, where companies from different cheaper countries including India would bid for projects. He asks one of his manager (An Indian abroad), to take a look at the different bids and choose the cheapest one. After looking at the bids, our Desi manager goes speechless!
The bids received from Indian companies are almost equal to hiring a team abroad and getting the work done! getting the similar work done from countries like Brazil and Mexico is so cheap that they are quite comparable to an amount a typical Indian would spend during casual shopping or when they go out for a party with friends!
The reasons for this are quite simple.
Rupee appreciation (although negated in last couple of months) against the dollar plus Increasing salaries. The services companies are forced to bid higher and higher, in order to maintain margins or at least prevent lay offs, not to mention the hiring process has slowed down to the core.
There are confirmed reports that IT budgets in a number of industries in the US and UK, have been nearly halved. A number of Indians in the US have been sent back, after project cancellations, lay-offs etc. Recent survey from Reuters has also proved the recession that we all are going to witness. The report also says that unlike the previous one, which lasted for just 8 months, this one is expected to last longer.
On one hand, even though some services companies are happy for the fact that they have managed to increase their H1B pool, this recession may literally suppress all this happiness straight!

Here is another interesting view for you:-

One of my friend Kumar (name changed) a typical software engineer in a services company in India is happily welcoming this recession. Even though, this might appear strange, he has some strong points behind. He says, just like US Houses price drop, we are likely to see a price drop here as well. (How in the world an IT guy will be able to pay back huge home loans if his job has no future!). Prices of other commodities are also likely to come down, most of them partly inflated because of IT (Auto fares?).

It will be interesting to see what strategies our services companies adopt to overcome recession and also stay profitable at the same time. Let us wait and watch.

Recession

In economics, a recession is a general slowdown in economic activity in a country over a sustained period of time, or a business cycle contraction. During recessions, many macroeconomic indicators vary in a similar way. Production as measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employment, investment spending, capacity utilization, household incomes and business profits all fall during recessions.

Governments usually respond to recessions by adopting expansionary macroeconomic policies, such as increasing money supply, increasing government spending and decreasing taxation.

Some recessions have been anticipated by stock market declines. In Stocks for the Long Run, Siegel mentions that since 1948, ten recessions were preceded by a stock market decline, by a lead time of 0 to 13 months (average 5.7 months), while ten stock market declines of greater than 10% in the DJIA were not followed by a recession.
The real-estate market also usually weakens before a recession. However real-estate declines can last much longer than recessions.
Since the business cycle is very hard to predict, Siegel argues that it is not possible to take advantage of economic cycles for timing investments. Even the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) takes a few months to determine if a peak or trough has occurred in the US.
During an economic decline, high yield stocks such as fast moving consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and tobacco tend to hold up better. However when the economy starts to recover and the bottom of the market has passed (sometimes identified on charts as a MACD ), growth stocks tend to recover faster. There is significant disagreement about how health care and utilities tend to recover. Diversifying one's portfolio into international stocks may provide some safety; however, economies that are closely correlated with that of the U.S. may also be affected by a recession in the U.S..
There is a view termed the halfway rule according to which investors start discounting an economic recovery about halfway through a recession. In the 16 U.S. recessions since 1919, the average length has been 13 months, although the recent recessions have been shorter. Thus if the 2008 recession followed the average, the downturn in the stock market would have bottomed around November 2008.

Fiza ne jab gulshan mein foolo ko mehkaya,
to jitani baar mehak ko humnei apni saanson mein paya,
Utani Baar Ae Khuda tu Yaad aaya.............

baadlon ke peeche se jab,
suraj yun muskaya,
uski naram kirano se tune,
jab zindagi ki Lau (fire) ko jalaya,
Utani Baar Ae Khuda tu Yaad aaya.............

Gulshan ki raahon se jab main guzra,
to jitane khushgwaar ehsaaso ko maine kareeb paya,
Utani Baar Ae Khuda tu Yaad aaya................

Ae kaash ke tu har waqt,
Yun hi mere saatjh rahe,
Na main kuch kahun,
Tu bhi khamosh hi rahe,
Bas nazron se nazrein,
Isharon mein baatein kahe,
Aur dekh kar yun humein,

KOI aur deewana bhi yeh kahe---

KI AE KHUDA TU YAAD AAYA...
AE KHUDA TU YAAD AYA…............

For When U Both Are At Heaven's Gate

Don't think that no one loved you,
because they've turned away.

Don't feel they didn't care for you,
because they couldn't stay.

Don't damn the world for not returning,
the love you feel you've given.

Don't hate the one that you were yearning for,
because she/he couldn't make a commitment.

Just think of her/him as experience,
and think how much you've grown.

Think of her/him as the sacred prince,
who placed you on a throne.

Think of all your times together,
Feeling closer since you're apart.

Think of your plans of now and forever,
and hold them in your heart.

And don't let yourself feel so much hate,
when she's/he's no longer yours other.

For when you're both at Heaven's gate,
that woman/man will be your sister/brother.

Love Me For Me

Love me for me,
For the me that I am true and true,
Love me with my imperfections,
See me as I am and not as what you want me to be….

Love me for me,
For the me that makes mistakes and speaks without thinking,
Love me even when I am unreasonable,
See me as I am and not for the Angel you seek….

Love me for me,
For the me that cries when a stranger child is hurt,
Love me when I am sad without me having a reason to be,
See me as I am not as what I once was…..

So, please always love me for me.................

HOPE

Some days before, I was staying in a hostel...So I used to have my food outside in hotels and restaurants.......

As I was having breakfast one morning, I overheard two cancer specialists (oncologists) conversing. One complained bitterly, "You know, Bikram, I just don't understand it. We used the same drugs, the same dosage, the same schedule and the same entry criteria. Yet I got a 22 percent response rate and you got a 74 percent. That's unheard of for metastatic cancer. How do you do it?"

His colleague replied, "We're using Etoposide, Platinum, Oncovin and Hydroxyurea. You call yours EPOH. I tell my patients I'm giving them HOPE. As dismal as the statistics are, I emphasize that we have a chance."

From there conversation i realized that we can always overcome from every situations,if we have the HOPE......

Where U and I are One..

"Love alone is capable of uniting living beings in such a way as to complete and fulfill them, for it alone takes them and joins them to what is deepest within themselves"

After a long, long time...many years of soul searching', study and self-discovery I've finally 'got it' and now understand the difference between the deepest agony and misery of the human condition… and the greatest joy!

I 'know', from my own experience, that the difference is simply between feeling separate, isolated, lonely, lost, and feeling 'at-one', whole, home. I think most people, if not all, live with a kind of homesickness; a sweet nostalgia which they can't quite put their finger on as if they were once in a place that they can't quite remember but desperately, somehow, want to get back to.

The Mystics have said for millennia that in existence there is a fundamental oneness; there isn't and never has been any division or separation at all. Now science is beginning to agree, they call it a "Unified Field" or "Theory of Everything".

I believe that at our deepest level (our core, Being, essence, soul, DNA) we inherently know that we are one with each other and with all things. The trouble is in our mental-minds. We have a deeply rooted idea that we are separate, a deeply engrained belief. These causes a split between what we think and what we intuitively know; a distance between our heads and our hearts.

From day to day we live from our heads, our thoughts… and this causes all our problems, all our misery. We're going against our deepest instincts! It is said that while in the womb (and also as very young children) we are in a natural state of one-ness, love, union, and innocence…bliss. Then after a while, gradually as we grow up in the world, we begin to realize that "I am this and you are that", "I am here and you are there", "I am me and you are…you". We start to feel separate, we become 'self-conscious', we become afraid.

In some ancient languages, the word for 'Separation' and the word for 'Fear' is actually the same. We go on and on accumulating knowledge, identity, conditioning and this sense of 'Me' gets re-enforced over and over again. We develop an "Ego".

Psychologists reckon that this is essential for survival at this stage of our lives. However, although necessary, too much "ego" can eventually become a heavy burden. As adults, we feel isolated, lonely, small, restricted and incomplete.

Trapped in this prison of a mind-made-ME, we long to expand, to grow, to melt, to merge with someone, something…anything. We ache to be back in that place that we once knew. This has all happened because we have forgotten Who We Truly Are. Our light has become hidden under the bushel of fear, a false self, a mask, a defense, and/or an idea.

The cure is Love.

Love is the essence of who we are and it is our way out of this mess. Love and fear are opposites. Fear was the problem, love is the solution. Fear means separation, love means union. Luckily, only love is really real.

I heard a story once:

A lover went to visit his beloved. He knocked on her door and his beloved called out "Who is there?"

"It is I, Raj, your lover," he replied.

"Go away," she said, "There is no room in here for two of us!"

He was baffled, but went away and studied, meditated, learned, burned, unlearned and eventually surrendered and let loads of inner ego baggage go.

A few months later he came back to see his beloved. Again he knocked on her door and again she called out "Who's there?"

But this time his reply was different. "It is you," he said.

The door opened and he was welcomed in. He had learned the secret; he had remembered.

The word 'sin' originally means 'to forget' or 'forgetfulness' and so to be forgiven, to be redeemed, to be atoned, we have to remember something. We have to remember the truth that is at the core of who and what we really are, the truth that's in the marrow of our very bones!!

Truth is a word for anything that is indivisible: Love, the Now, God, Dharma, Logos, Tao, Energy, Nature, Life, Reality, and Existence. To remember ourselves as a part of the divine plan is to be set free yet deep down, we are already free, and love is freedom.

Love heals us, makes us whole again. (Interestingly, the root word for 'heal' and 'whole' is the same.) Our Ego NEVER feels complete, or fulfilled or whole. All our restriction, all our resistance, all our struggle, all our fight is basically against nature, against ourselves, against love. It's a fight we can never win! The part can never 'win' against the whole and eventually, one way or another, we will have to surrender, to yield, to let go.

"Love conquers all things; let us too give in to Love."

Love is the bottom line of every religion and spiritual pathway, to surrender ourselves to a higher, deeper, greater power. The word 'Islam' even translates as 'surrender'.

So it seems that our lives are a journey from knowing, through forgetting, to (hopefully) remembering again. We start out open and free and end up open and free. Somewhere in the middle we pass through a narrow tunnel. This tunnel is our identification with our small-self, "ME", a conditioned-ego, and our cocoon.

The Buddhists say, "No self, No problem."

To me, that means no small, false, separate, scared self; no problems.

When they talk about 'dying before you die' I think they really just mean dropping the baggage; getting rid of all our un-natural ways and being natural again, returning to innocence, like a child, living 'in tune' with our own true nature, just as God intended, living love. Living like this you never fear death!

Jesus said that whoever is prepared to lose (their old life, their ego-shell) will gain (a new life, freedom, joy) He also said that the Golden Rule was to "Love your neighbor as your self", because he knew, he'd remembered, at the deepest level your 'neighbor' is yourself.

There is only One Self. Call it Love, call it Life, and call it God or Truth or "The Ground of Being". It doesn't really make much difference. We are all truly, madly, deeply one!!!

Remember, re-member, be a member again of the whole of existence, of everything that is, was and ever will be.

In Hinduism, it's called "Lila", which means play. To be you is to be happy. To be whole is to be healthy (to be out of tune with yourself or the whole leads to "dis-ease").

We are each a vital part of something real, magic and infinite. We're each like different instruments in a divine cosmic orchestra. You don't need a reason to be happy and there is no reason to be afraid. Live, love, laugh, and learn.

"The end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."

"Namaste", which (I think) means I honor that place in you, where you and I are one.

GIVE SOMEONE YOU LOVE FIVE MORE MINUTES OF YOUR TIME TODAY!!!!

In last Sunday evening, I went out for a walk...after various rounds; I sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground.

After sometimes, the man started chatting with me, and he showed his daughter: “That’s my daughter on the cycle in the white dress.”

Then, looking at his watch, he called to his daughter. “What do you say we go, Milli?”

Milli pleaded, “Just five more minutes, Papa. Please? Just five more minutes.”

The man nodded and Milli continued to ride her cycle to her heart’s content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his daughter. “Time to go now?”

Again Milli pleaded, “Five more minutes, Papa. Just five more minutes.”

The man smiled and said, “OK.”

“You certainly are a patient father,” I responded.

The man smiled at me, and then said, “Her elder brother Mihir was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with him, and now I’d give anything for just five more minutes with him. I’ve vowed not to make the same mistake with Milli.

"She thinks she has five more minutes to ride her cycle. The truth is:

I get five more minutes to watch her play.”

LIFE IS ALL ABOUT MAKING PRIORITIES, WHAT ARE YOUR PRIORITIES??

Unfinished Story of a Little Girl.....

Once upon a time there was a little girl. Although she had a brother and a sister she was very lonely. Somehow she seemed to know that there was something missing from her life for her days were long and hard, even painful but she accepted it for she was told that it was how life was, but at night, as she snuggled into her bed she was able to cast off her fears and loneliness and enter a world of beauty.

It was a world filled with beautiful people, with knights who believed in honour above all else and of maidens who pined for love and who enjoyed the throes of ecstasy when they found it. Softly she would enter this world, careful not to disturb it, and as she watched, she herself longed to be a part of such a wonderful and happy world.

But as time passed, she grew as all children do, but unlike other children, she never lost her joy and wonder at this beautiful world that she had created. She longed with an aching heart that some day she would find a love, one that was true, strong and lasting.

With each passing year, such a love seemed further and further distant. Instead she learnt that the world was hard and had no time for dreamers. Throughout all her troubles and turmoil, her heart never hardened as some do, but it remained soft, tender and giving. So she became drawn to the treasure trove of trying to help others. Then in some inexplicable way or maybe it was through the work she was doing, she learnt two of the most valuable truths to living.

The first was that it is far better and more rewarding to give than to receive. The second was that if you go searching for love, you may well find it, but it is unlikely to be a lasting love. Instead, it is far better to let love find you, for when it does it will not be a false love, but instead it will be a good and true love. One that will grow with the passing days. So that with the passing of the years, each others love will grow stronger and they will be bound with the silken threads so tightly that they will never break.

That little girl has grown into an adult. She no longer seeks to find love for at last she is at peace with her soul, she knows without the slightest reservation that love will knock on her heart.

Today, the world which was once so large that it took months for word to travel from one place to another, has been reduced to the point that a word spoken thousands of miles away can reach its destination the instant it is spoken. Valorous knights no longer walk the land for they have long since vanished into dust. In spite of all the factual and hustle and bustle of this modern world, Love survives!!

It is reaching out from a far and distant land, all this once a little girl, but now an adult need do is to unlock the door to her heart, open it wide and allow love to enter. But after waiting so long, after enduring so much, it is very difficult to vanquish her fears and welcome it in the way she has yearned to for so long.

Then one day while walking in the streets of the city, she met a man. He was like so many other men, quite ordinary, he spoke like other men, but she also knew he was very different from any man she had ever known. So instead of just listening to his words, she listened to the meaning of his words.

Now for the first time she started to understand and she listened attentively and yearned to hear more. As time passed this girl who was now a woman came to realise that there were still knights in shining armour and that she had found hers.

All that was needed now was time. Time to unlock her heart, but it was slow, for a lock that has never been used is difficult to open. But day be day, week by week it opened a little more, and as it opened, the light that had been locked within streamed out to meet the glory of this magnificent world waiting to enter.

Slowly this knight taught her how to understand herself, to see the beauty inside, radiating out from her soul. To look for the good in people, not their bad. To truly see the beauty of the world around us, the power and mystery of nature. For in nature, there is no ugliness, for that is something only the darkness of the human mind creates.

Now at last she was content within her soul. Now at last she knew happiness within her heart. She knew now that she was truly ready to accept and give love when it found her. She knew also that she was so very rich, for true wealth is not measured in coin or gold, but in happiness and understanding.

Then as all mortal things must, her knight was gone. Pearls of sorrow streamed from her now red rimmed and saddened eyes. Both her heart and soul were heavy. But again she knew that time helps heal even the deepest wounds. She knew also that her knight lived on in her heart, he would never leave her.

At long last she was now ready to walk confidently into the glories of life. Leaving her fantasy world behind, yet carrying a large portion of it in her Heart.

She knew now that she was ready, ready to accept the love she had always yearned for. That when her true love found her, that she would be able to give totally and completely. Not just of her heart, but of her mind, her body, her very being.

Now it has all come to pass. Not only is she happy, but she is confident that no matter what, her love will last for ever.

As U Attune to My Heart....

As you attune to my heart
Uplifted are my feelings
Connecting with affections
Here upon my heartstrings

Sensually flows the rhythm
With passionate desires
As our heartbeats in tempo
The sounds of love inspires

Again your heartsongs play
As words whisper amore
Embracing in your passion
I shall love you forevermore

When my heart sings of joy
Words flow with delight
Expressing my love to you
It gave me reasons to write
